Los Critics’ Choice Documentary Awards anuncia a los nominados

Dos óperas primas lideran el campo de nominaciones con seis cada una: “Ascension” de Jessica Kingdon y “Summer of Soul (… Or, When the Revolution Could Not Be Televised)” de Questlove.

El documental de Jessica Kingdon ambientado en China “Ascension” y la crónica ganadora de Sundance de Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson de una serie de conciertos de Nueva York, “Summer of Soul”, encabezan todas las películas en nominaciones para los Critics Choice Documentary Awards, que fueron anunciados este lunes por la Asociación Critics Choice.

Las dos películas recibieron seis nominaciones cada una en las 13 categorías de largometrajes, ambas nominadas a Mejor Largometraje Documental, Mejor Director, Mejor Primer Largometraje Documental y Mejor Montaje. “Ascension” también fue nominada a Mejor Cinematografía y Mejor Banda Sonora, mientras que “Summer of Soul” recibió nominaciones como Mejor Documental de Archivo y Mejor Documental Musical.

“Becoming Cousteau” de Liz Garbus y “The Rescue” de Elizabeth Chai Vasarhelyi y Jimmy Chin recibieron cinco nominaciones cada una.

Además de esas cuatro películas, los nominados en la categoría de Mejor Película Documental también incluyeron “Attica”, “El crimen del siglo”, “Un crimen en el pantano”, “Flee”, “Presentando a Selma Blair”, “The Lost Leonardo , “Mi nombre es Pauli Murray” y “Procesión”.

Los ganadores serán revelados en un evento de gala el domingo 14 de noviembre en BRIC en Brooklyn, NY. National Geographic Documentary Films es el patrocinador presentador. Los patrocinadores de Catalyst son HBO Max, Hulu, Netflix y películas documentales de Showtime.
